At DeserTracker, a product of QuantiumLab, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service, including our website, mobile apps, and browser extension. We are committed to transparency and protecting your personal data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

We collect minimal personal information from you:

• Email Address: Used for account creation, authentication, and sending price alerts
• Name (Optional): If you choose to provide it in your dashboard profile

When you ask us to reply to your feedback, we store your email address with it and use it only to reply.

2.2 Product Tracking Data

When you use DeserTracker, we collect:

• URLs of products you want to track
• Your notification preferences
• Price history and tracking metadata

When you tell us that you bought an item, or why you stopped its alerts, we keep that answer with your account.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

• Browser type and version
• Device information
• IP address (for security purposes only)
• Usage patterns and timestamps

2.4 Browser Extension Data

If you use the DeserTracker browser extension, we additionally collect:

• Product page visits: When you visit a product page on a supported retailer (e.g., Amazon.ae, Noon), the extension detects the page and may send the product URL to our servers to display price data. We only process URLs on sites where the extension is active.
• Interaction events: We collect anonymous usage analytics such as whether you expanded the price widget, copied a coupon code, or clicked a tracking button. This helps us improve the extension experience.
• Authentication state: The extension stores your login token locally in browser storage to keep you signed in. This token is not shared with any third party.

The extension does not collect your browsing history, read page content beyond product information, or track activity on non-supported websites.

2.5 DeserTracker mobile app

• You can browse without an account. To track a product, you sign in with your email address and a one-time code.
• The product links you share or paste and your target prices are stored with your account, as on the website.
• When you turn on push alerts, we store your device's push token from Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) to send your alerts. Logging out or deleting your account removes it.
• The first time the app opens, it tells our server about the install. We also record the store links you open from the app. These records include your IP address and device details.
• We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see how the app is used: the screens you open, actions such as tracking a product or copying a coupon, the store name, your device model and system version, and a random app ID. It does not get your email address, product links, or search text, and the app does not use your phone's advertising ID.
• Turn off push alerts any time in the app's Account tab or in your phone settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the DeserTracker service
• To send you price drop notifications by email or push notification
• To authenticate your account and prevent unauthorized access
• To improve our service and develop new features
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our service (e.g., email delivery, cloud hosting, push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), analytics and advertising measurement (Google)). These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
• Business Transfers: If DeserTracker is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Affiliate Links and Revenue

DeserTracker includes affiliate links to products on our website and through the browser extension. The extension may add affiliate parameters to product links on supported retailer websites. When you make a purchase through these links, we may receive a commission from the retailer. This practice:

• Does not affect the price you pay
• Does not influence which products we track or how we track them
• Helps us keep DeserTracker free for all users
• Does not involve sharing your personal information with retailers

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. You may delete your account at any time, and we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to save your preferences. The browser extension uses the browser storage API to store your sign-in token, your settings (such as affiliate and notification preferences), and cached store data.

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors use the website. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, device and browser details, and the pages you visit.

We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure our ads. When you arrive from a Google ad, we store the ad click identifier (gclid, gbraid or wbraid) in your browser. If you then create an account, we save that identifier with your account.

We do not show advertisements on DeserTracker. We also record product clicks and other usage events on our own servers.

Our alert emails include a small image that tells us when an email was opened. We use it only to count opens.

10. Children's Privacy

DeserTracker is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your country. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email and by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of DeserTracker after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
