## Method
We compare two periods of four weeks each, from 29 April 2026 to 23 June 2026.
For each product we take its average price in each period, weighted by the time at each price.
Prices are recorded when they change, not on a schedule.
Only covered, in-stock time counts. Days our collection did not cover are left out of both averages.
The cohort is the products with a covered price in the earlier period and a price at the start of the later period.
Up and down use the same minimum change as a price cut on the method page, measured from the higher of the two averages.
The median change is measured from the earlier average.
Each product counts once; no single store supplies more than half of the weight.
Coverage is determined as follows: Before the daily check counter started, collection is inferred from the daily count of recorded price and stock changes per retailer. A quiet day and a stopped collector look the same, so days with less than half of the usual count are excluded. From the counter start, a day counts only when enough price checks succeeded that day.
